The Principal's Post: November 6, 2009

Thank you to all parents who were able to attend parent conferences last week.  We had a very successful turn out with 425 parents discussing their child's achievement over the week.  The luau dinner was also very profitable as we were able to gather close to $1,000 to use for rewarding our SV students.  Thanks to all who purchased dinners and enjoyed the food.

As we approach the holiday season, please make sure your child attends school everyday.  Please do not schedule trips or vacations that cause excessive absences or to miss school.  These absences will be unexcused and will result in Saturday Schools to be assigned for each missing day.  It is vital to your child's success that he or she is in school every instructional day.

Finally, I invite you to attend one of our basketball games or wrestling meets here at South Valley in November and December.  Our girls basketball teams are having a good season and doing well on the court against teams in San Jose, Morgan Hill, and Gilroy.  Our wrestling team is well known and looks to have another championship season.  They've been dominating opponents so far, but there is extremely tough competition headed their way so it will be a very good test for our Tiger wrestlers.

Thanks for all of your support,

Mr. Greg Kapaku, Principal
