South Valley's Associated Student Body is an organization made up of several students from all three grades. The purpose of ASB is to enhance the social and academic climate of South Valley with various events and activities. Some such activities include:
- School Dances-- This year ASB will be hosting six dances, most of which will occur from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in the school gymnasium. The price of a ticket is $2.50 if purchased ahead of time during the school day, and $3.50 if purchased at the door of the dance. When attending school dances, students must bring their ticket, a signed parent permission slip, and a current school ID card. The school dress code is in effect at all dances, and students who arrive wearing clothing that breaks that dress code will be sent home. Two dances (the Halloween Dance in October and the Winter Formal in December) will be night dances that will run from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Parents MUST pick up students from those dances promptly at 9:00 pm, or students will not be allowed to attend future dances.
- Spirit Days-- Certain Fridays will be promoted as "Spirit Days" when students are encouraged to dress up according to a theme. Some such themes are "Sunglasses Day", "Hawaiian Day", "Crazy Hair Day", etc. When students participate, they earn spirit points for their grade level. At the end of the school year, a grand prize will be awarded to the class that has earned the most spirit points.
