Ms. Falconer

6th Grade Math and Science

Ms. Falconer graduated from Humboldt State University in 2006 and has been teaching sixth grade at SVMS for the past three years.  She also advises South Valley's Associated Student Body and coaches girls basketball and volleyball.  Some mornings she can be found roasting coffee at Sue's Coffee Roasting Company on Monterey Street.  She plays bass guitar and sings in her classic rock teacher-band, "Four Guys and a Girl", and will never pass up a plate of brownies.  Why she loves teaching: "It is so amazing to see students discover something new and become excited by it.  I love watching them come alive during a science activity or math exploration.  It's the most rewarding experience that I can think of."

6th Grade Math and Science

Miss Aldridge graduated from Fresno State University in 2009 and is teaching her first year at SVMS. She is a huge San Diego Chargers fan, and enjoys watching and playing most sports--especially volleyball. In her free time, she enjoys rewatching her favorite movies or seeing new ones. She enjoys teaching math and science because there is always something new to learn. She says that the best part about being a teacher is seeing the change in what student's know from the beginning of the year until the end.

Mr. Leong

Mr. Leong

8th Grade Algebra

Mr. Leong graduated from San Jose State University in 2004 with a Liberal Studies degree and a minor in Math Education.  He then entered the credentialing program as well as began teaching at South Valley a few months after.  He has taught 6th grade Life Skills, 7th Grade Math Intervention, 8th Grade Math Intervention, and Algebra Accelerated over the past six years.  He also is the teacher liason for the Power School program and coordinates the 8th Grade Washington D.C. and New York Trip.  In his free time he enjoys watching television programs such as Jeopardy!, The Big Bang Theory, and The Simpsons.  His favorite six part movie series would have to be Star Wars and looks up to Darth Vader.  His favorite color combination is blue and orange, colors of his old high school, Saint Joseph Notre Dame in Alameda.  He enjoys teaching because he gets to help students in something he loves, life and math.
